Ahead of St. Patrick’s Day, The Great New York State Fair is announcing the addition of a seasoned Celtic-rock band to its 2024 entertainment lineup as part of the Chevrolet Music Series. Internationally known musicians, The Elders will make their Great New York State Fair debut on the Chevy Court Stage at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 25.
The six-person ensemble includes Ian Byrne, lead vocals and percussion; Kian Byrne, vocals, drums, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, and mandolin; Norm Dahlor, vocals, bass guitar, and acoustic guitar; Diana Ladio, vocals and fiddle; William "Liam" Latas, vocals, lead guitar, and acoustic guitar; and Daniel Loftus, vocals, keyboards, and bass guitar. After taking a break from touring, the band got back on the road in April 2022 with their ninth studio album “Well Alright Then”.
With 24 years of experience, an Emmy Award-winning DVD, and an induction into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame under their belt, the band is beloved by fans for their timeless sound, unique harmonies, unparalleled musicianship, and strong, narrative lyricism.
Their 9th studio album, “Well Alright Then,” was released in April 2022 in honor of their late guitarist, Steve Phillips.
“We are delighted to welcome the Elders to The Great New York State Fair for their debut performance,” said Interim Fair Director Julie LaFave. “Their songs tell powerful stories of love and loyalty, rich with the feisty Irish spirit many of their fans know and love. These rockers are an excellent addition to our entertainment lineup this year, and we can’t wait for everyone to join in the fun!”
The Fair starts Wednesday, August 21, and runs through Labor Day, Monday, September 2. All concerts are included in the price of admission, which will go on sale later this summer. The Great New York State Fair is the most affordable state fair in the country.
In total, The Fair’s Chevrolet Music Series will feature 39 national recording acts. There will be a daily 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. concert at Chevy Court (located near Gate 1), and a daily 8 p.m. concert at Suburban Park (located on the western end of the Fairgrounds, beyond the Midway).
All concerts announced thus far are provided in the charts below. Fair staff will continue to update schedules on the Fair’s website at pages dedicated to Chevy Court and Suburban Park.

The Fair starts Wednesday, August 21, and runs through Labor Day, Monday, September 2. Admission – still free for kids under 12 years old, and adults over 65 years old – will go on sale later this year.
